Casa do Cerro is located just to the east of the town of Sao-Bras de Alportel, and on
the road to Tavira. A large international supermarket can be found just 1 kilometre from the villa. Loule is also close by with its busy market and excellent shopping, bars and restaurants. 10 minutes from the
motorway and twenty minutes from Faro International Airport means that nowhere is very far away. Spain is less than half an hour away with Seville and Lisbon also within comfortable driving distance. The best beaches
on the Algarve are to the east of the fishing town of Olhao and stretch all the way to Spain. The beaches at Manta Rota east of Tavira are simply stunning. A twenty to thirty minute drive through the breathtaking
Algarve hills will get you there. |

The prehistoric mining activity in the Algarve dates back to about 2.500 years BC, which
left this region with a rich variety of archaeological remains. The Cova dos Mouros Mines are located in the Parish of
Vaqueiros, near a Chalcolithic settlement of Santa Justa, just 20 km from the ancient shipping port of Alcoutim. The existing remains refer to copper mines with evidence of ancient exploration since
Chalcolithic times to old prospecting works of the XIX century. |
